Portorož Airport open day
On 29th September 2018 Portoroz Airport opened its doors. The event was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the death of Pilot Josip Križaj and the honorable 55th anniversary of the Portorož Coastal Flight Center.
The following airport services were presented: rescue firefighter, police, customs, meteorological service and air traffic control service. The Red Cross of Slovenia, the Slovenian Armed Forces and the aviation school were also introduced. The program has been enriched by accompanying activities such as a children's corner with a firefighting platform, a parachute pyramid, animation, an exhibition of the art competition "Pilot Josip Križaj", the exhibition "Mills in the valley of the Dragonja River" and a rich offer of local products at the stands.
The event was accompanied by a smaller aviation program with Slovenian pilots Jago Stemberger, Andrej Perc and Benjamin Ličer and other representatives of Slovenian aviation: Pipistrel with Panthera and Virus, Taf3 with Flamingo two-seat ultralight aircraft, Slovenian Army with Pilatus PC-6, Zlin Z-232L and Bell 412, Slovenian police and others.
